Over 20 years ago, some of our museum volunteers decided to put on an art show in the Town Hall. We did this for three years in succession, and the exhibitions were very successful, with quite a few paintings sold, and one of our artists even went on to have a London gallery exhibition.
Some of us thought it was a good idea to restart these annual exhibitions, so on the weekend of 26 and 27 September, the Main Hall will be chokka with quality artwork from painters and textile artists mostly living in the South Somerset area.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the Court Room there will be two further exhibitions for local people and children to display their talents! The paintings here will all be limited to an A5 size, and entries in the adults MiniArt Exhibition will all be based on the theme of ‘Wish You Were Here’. The Children’s Exhibition theme is ‘Somerset and Me’
So come on in and join the fun! You’ve got until Wednesday 16th September to get your painting done.
